The Pivot That Built Redstring. A Story When an Idea Failed, But a Founder Did Not

In 2023, Srijan started hisentrepreneurial journey with an idea he deeply believed in.

It failed.

But you know what didn’t?

His determination to build somethingsuccessful.

Like most founders, he was convincedhis vision would work. He experimented, tried to push it forward, but somewheredown the line, he realized it wasn’t clicking. That first startup became hisfirst failure & also his biggest turning point!

Instead of quitting, he paused andwent back to the learning stage where he found the 18startup program with whichhe worked upon a completely new idea and that’s how Redstring was born.

Through mentorship, discussions, andcommunity interactions, he started understanding:

  • Customer persona
  • Real feedback loops
  • What problem he was actuallysolving
  • And most importantly - who hewas solving it for

The shift from “I have an idea” to“What exact problem am I solving, and for whom?” changed everything.

That’s when Redstring started takingreal shape.

Redstring today is not just anotherjob & hiring portal. It is a personalized HR tech enabled hiring platformbuilt for fast-moving teams and growing companies. Instead of being “justanother portal,” they focused on two clear metrics:

  • Cost to hire
  • Time to hire

Every decision now revolves around onesimple question - how can hiring become easier, faster, and more scalable forgrowing companies?

Over time, the product evolved. In2024, Redstring experimented with multiple directions:

  • First, it became a showcaseplatform for startups.
  • Then, it pivoted into managinginternship drives for colleges.
  • Later, it explored a job portalmodel.

Each version taught them somethingnew. Eventually, they positioned themselves clearly - as a hiring solutionfocused on convenience, usability, scalability, and reducing hiring costs.

Today,

  • Redstring has worked with 30+startups.
  • They’ve scaled revenuesteadily. -They’re growing 2x quarter-on-quarter.

Alongside this, they are now building& expanding their hiring-focused model called Loopex : designed to makerecruitment more streamlined, usable, scalable and most importantly convenientfor recruiters and growing teams.

One of their biggest growth driverswas content for socials- Building in Public and Community engagement.

Within weeks, that visibility turnedinto customers. Not just customers - repeat customers. And word-of-mouthreferrals.

The community didn’t just give themengagement. It gave them feedback, early users, and real conversations. Thatshaped the product more than any feature ever could.

Through the 18startup network, Srijanalso met a co-founder. They worked closely for a few months, building andexperimenting together. Over time, they realized their long-term paths andworking styles were different. The decision to move forward separately wasmutual. It reinforced an important lesson: clarity in partnerships matters asmuch as clarity in product.
